The Sphero Edu app

This app is great because it is compatible with any device which means students can continue their learning at home as well. It is set up so that learners can transition from beginner, to intermediate, to pro. Programs are broken down into the Math, Science, Coding, Social Studies, and Art, as well as K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12. The tutorials are very well put together, easy to follow and broken down into sections. Like with other programs, you are able to share with the world or check out others’ projects if they chose to make their creations shareable

Code.org app

There is a lot of information on this website that is great for students AND teachers. Full course catalogues include a breakdown of K-5 (make your own games, apps, or computer drawing), 6-12 (build real working apps, games and websites using blocks, JavaScript, CSS, HTML and more), and beyond K-12 (go beyond Code.org and continue your path in computer science. Browse online schools and courses). Under the “Teach” tab you will find computer science courses broken down into elementary, middle, and high school. An App Lab also includes 6 other programs that are great for schools. The best thing about this program is that they provide free professional learning opportunities that are highly rated by teachers, lesson plans are included with courses as well as answer keys.

My 10 year old son and I build this game together called "CRABMAN." I learned a lot from him! lol
